60 British children believed to be trapped in Syria

Turkey’s President Erdogan has hit out at the West for “standing by terrorists” by opposing its operation against Kurdish fighters.

Mr Erdogan has warned its offensive will continue if Kurdish forces haven’t withdrawn from north-eastern Syria before a ceasefire ends.

Nearly 60 British children are believed to be trapped because of the fighting – double the number originally thought.

Sky’s special correspondent Alex Crawford reports from Istanbul.
