Hill focuses on her family’s background in opening statement

Fiona Hill, the former White House adviser for Europe and Russia, talked about her family’s background during her testimony in the House impeachment inquiry on Nov. 21. Hill, a British-born naturalized citizen, is a former senior U.S. intelligence official and Russia scholar, and an author of a respected biography of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Hill’s testimony is important because she witnessed or heard about key early events, including a July 10 meeting between national security officials, Trump’s point person on Ukraine and Ukrainian officials at the White House.
