Trump congratulates Boris Johnson on UK election win, slams impeachment after charges approved

U.S. President Donald Trump congratulated U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Friday over his majority election victory in the general election.

He also criticized impeachment after charges were approved by the House Judiciary Committee, saying it was an "embarrassment to the country."

He also claimed that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said in an interview that they’ve been "working on this for two-and-a-half years" in reference to impeachment. Pelosi actually was reacting to criticism Democrats were racing through the impeachment inquiry, to which she said it had been going on for 22 months, making clear that included the Mueller investigation.

In addition, Trump said they had approved the Phase 1 of a trade deal with China, but said tariffs would remain as they negotiated Phase 2.
