Trump impeachment: House managers accuse Senate Republicans of ‘rigged’ trial

The House impeachment managers for the trial of President Donald Trump accused Senate Republicans and Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of laying out rules they say shows no effort to conduct a fair trial, calling it a "rigged" process.

House Judiciary Chair Jerry Nadler also criticized the rules surrounding witnesses and other evidence being called, saying any opposition shows an effort to "cover up" Trump’s alleged crimes.

House Intelligence Chair Adam Schiff also said that the rules were "nothing" like the rules set out for the impeachment trial of former President Bill Clinton, despite McConnell consistently saying the process would be similar.
